Image Converter
An image converter changes a picture from one file format to another, such as WebP to JPG or PNG to WebP, without changing what the image shows. Add one or more images, choose the target format and quality, and download the converted files.

How to convert images
- Select Choose Images and add JPG, PNG or WebP files.
- Choose the output format: WebP, JPG or PNG.
- For WebP and JPG, choose a quality: 95%, 90%, 80% or 70%. Lower quality means smaller files.
- Select Convert Images and download each converted file.
Popular conversions and why people make them
- WebP to JPG: older apps, some print services and email clients don’t accept WebP.
- PNG to JPG: makes large photo-like PNGs much smaller (transparent areas become white).
- JPG or PNG to WebP: smaller files for websites, with transparency support.
- JPG to PNG: needed by some editors; it won’t restore detail that JPG compression already removed.
Things to know
Converting to JPG flattens transparency onto a white background. Converting a JPG to PNG makes the file bigger without improving quality. If one file in a batch can’t be read (for example, it’s damaged or not really an image), the others still convert.
Conversion runs in your browser; your images are not uploaded to a LIVETOOLSLAB server.
WebP support
All current major browsers display WebP, and most recent operating systems can open it. Older desktop software, some print services and some upload forms still expect JPG or PNG, which is the most common reason to convert WebP files.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Add the WebP file, choose JPG as the output, and download the converted image.
90% is a good default. Use 95% for images you may edit again and 70โ80% when small file size matters most.
Use the Image to PDF Converter, which combines one or more images into a PDF document.
Converting to JPG or WebP at 90โ95% quality usually looks identical at normal size. Repeated lossy conversions add up, so convert from the original each time.
