How to use it

  1. Enter the page topic or main keyword and your business or website name.
  2. Optionally add a location, supporting keywords and a short description of the page.
  3. Choose a title style (Standard, Benefit focused, Guide, or Tool) and a description style.
  4. Select Generate Meta Tags, edit the wording so it describes your page accurately, and copy it.

What makes a good title and description

  • Title: put the main topic first, keep it specific, and add the brand at the end. Around 50–60 characters usually avoids truncation, but Google measures in pixels.
  • Description: summarise what the visitor gets on the page in one or two sentences. Roughly 120–155 characters is a practical range.
  • Every page needs its own unique title and description.

Google may rewrite titles and descriptions when it thinks another snippet matches the query better. Accurate, page-specific text makes that less likely.

Next steps

Check how the result looks with the SERP snippet preview, then confirm the tags on your live page with the meta tag checker.

Example: before and after

Generic: β€œLearn more about our services and get useful information.”
Specific: β€œCompress JPG, PNG and WebP images in your browser. Choose the format, compare sizes and download a smaller file.”

The specific version tells the searcher what the page does and what they get. Adding a short page description in the tool produces this kind of result.

Frequently asked questions

Treat it as a draft. Edit it so it accurately describes your specific page; generic descriptions are less useful to searchers.

Google has said it does not use the meta keywords tag for ranking, so this tool focuses on the title and description.

There is no fixed limit, but descriptions longer than about 155–160 characters are often cut off in results.
